The Cottonwood and Adobe Archetype

While poking around the Hatch Valley one summer afternoon in 1984 or thereabouts, I came across these three adobe houses shaded by massive cottonwoods. This is an appealing New Mexico archetype: the snug little adobe house tucked within protective cottonwood shade. I bet these trees and houses no longer exist; they have probably been replaced by a more modern archetype: "manufactured home in open field."

You're probably right - they're probably gone... Makes me feel sad.
