Technopeasant

Radium Springs, NM. 1977.

Judy, wife #1, striking a pose. That's one of her wall hangings behind her.

Huh.... I'd never seen a picture of "wife #1". Why "Technopeasant" as a descriptive heading?

Probing back into the mists of antiquity, I seem to recall that we called ourselves "technopeasants" back then. We were quite specifically trying to become peasants, but we were acknowledging our utter dependence on technology -- cars, irrigation pumps, etc. Somewhere down the line I changed this to "ecopeasant." Now I don't use a label at all, at least not for this aspect of our identity.

Well, don't despair brother. We're all moving at breakneck speed toward becoming "true peasants" after all.
